Cleo Fields appoints 18-year-old college student to lead his campaign

BATON ROUGE (April 24, 2019) –Attorney Cleo Fields, a candidate for the vacant Louisiana State Senate District 14 seat, today appointed Kasey Williams, an 18-year-old college student, as his campaign manager. Williams is a freshman in the Honors College at Southern University majoring in Political Science. She formerly served as president of the Louisiana Leadership Institute (LLI) in 2017- 2018. She has been part of LLI under the mentorship of Fields since 2010. She also served in other LLI leadership positions including secretary and as a member of the Leadership Debate team. “I have the utmost confidence in Kasey,” Fields said. “She did a great job as student body president at the Louisiana Leadership Institute and I have no doubt that she will meet the challenges of leading our campaign.” “I am very excited and humbled that Mr. Fields would trust me with this very important position,” said Williams, who graduated with honors from Baton Rouge Magnet High School and is also fluent in Spanish. “I hope to encourage other young people to get involved in our political process and show them that there is no age limit on what we can do.” Williams has also appointed two other key members of her staff. Shalyric Self, a 2018 Southern University graduate in mass communication, will serve as public relations specialist and Mike Foster Jr., a junior majoring in music education at Southern University, will serve as a multimedia producer.  #FieldsForUs
